Things to do in Zion National Park

Zion sits about 160 miles (260 km) from Las Vegas, roughly a 2 hour 45 minute drive, and it's an hour ahead of Nevada year-round since Utah runs on Mountain Time while Nevada stays on Pacific Time. Entry costs $35 per vehicle for a 7-day pass in 2026, plus a $100 surcharge per foreign visitor.

From around March through late November, the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is closed to private cars entirely, and the only way in is the free park shuttle from Springdale. Angels Landing now requires a permit, allocated by lottery and paid for in advance, so it's not a walk-up hike anymore.

Plan a shuttle-timed day, not a self-drive loop, and book the lottery ahead if that trail matters to you.
