Things to do in Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon National Park sits about 250 miles (400 km) from Las Vegas, roughly 4 hours 15 minutes by car, and across the state line into Utah, which runs on Mountain Time โ€” an hour ahead of Nevada. Entry is $35 per vehicle for a 7-day pass, plus a $100-per-person surcharge for foreign visitors at US national parks, both current for 2026.

The park sits on a plateau at roughly 2,400-2,700 metres, so nights stay cold even in July while Las Vegas swelters. The main amphitheatre, packed with eroded rock spires called hoodoos, is visible on short walks from viewpoints a few minutes from the parking areas.

Because of the drive, most visitors pair Bryce with Zion over several days rather than attempting a same-day round trip from Las Vegas.
